Then when closing the game, that blank savefile will be uploaded to the cloud and replace the old one and you will lose your progress permanently. If this would delete the savefile itself, then possibly, but deleting a save in-game will just write a blank savefile. Could I get it back? Thanks a bunch, this is exactly what I needed. The second image you've posted is just showing an option to back-up the game installation itself, not the savefiles. You can check this link, to see which of your games have saves stored on the Steam Cloud as well as looking at their date: If you sometimes play offline and hop between different computers, the saves might not be in sync. Of course, the Steam Cloud feature requires you to be online when closing the game, in order for your most recent save to be uploaded. This is pretty much the perfect option for you. If you log-in to Steam on a different PC, your most recently uploaded save will be downloaded and used on that new PC. This game supports this feature and that means, savefiles are uploaded to the internet, when the game is being closed and synced with your computer upon launching the game.
